Fort Wayne, IN - Ultra Electronics demonstrated its innovative Hyperspike Mass Notification Acoustic System to Indiana University, Purdue University at Fort Wayne (IPFW), on July 24th in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  The purpose of the demonstration was to let university officials experience the high fidelity audio that is produced by the Ultra Hyperspike Monolithic Array (MA) technology.

The Ultra Hyperspike Monolithic Array (MA) technology provides a breakthrough in the wide area mass notification communications marketplace with its ability to provide highly intelligible, high fidelity voice and high Sound Pressure Level (SPL) warning siren capability, all in a very compact, lightweight transducer speaker array.  It is the combination of voice and emergency warning capability that provides an institution with a truly dual use capability.

The dual use capability allows an institution to provide the necessary Mass Notification for all emergency situations, but also provides a tool that can be used on a regular basis for general communications, announcements, and even background music.

The MA-2 system was first set up in a student housing area, and test broadcast messages were played, while officials moved around the local campus to experience the sound quality and volume.  A second test was performed with the MA-2 system deployed atop a 4 story parking garage to provide a longer unobstructed range demonstration.
