Columbia City, Indiana – Ultra Electronics – USSI announces today that is has received a large order for HS-14s from a customer located in the Asia Pacific region.

The HS-14 will be used on naval vessels to help deter and communicate with potential threats that approach.  Vessel personnel will have the ability to rapidly deploy and move the high power Acoustic Hailing Device (AHD) anywhere on the ship or onto a land based situation.  The HS-14 weighs less than 40 lbs. (18.14 kg) and has the ability to send crystal clear voice messages over 1500m.  An internal MP3 player allows operators to quickly and easily load any audio file that will aid in communicating with possible threats.

Common AHDs found in the marketplace will shut down and become inoperable from thermal over-heating thus leaving the end user non-functioning unit until it is sufficiently cooled.

The integrated acoustic hailer is capable of 140 dB for background-noise piercing tones and clearly audible commands, even in the most chaotic situation. The HyperShield is capable of being integrated with gas masks and other law enforcement equipment.
